He
is also semi finalist at the European Championship 2008 in Sofia,
Bulgaria and Winner of the Alsacian Wines Trophy (European Championship
2008)
On
this website, you’ll discover the story of a young passionate sommelier,
his travels, what he loves and his discoveries, illustrated by a

In
the « link » section, you’ll find a series of contacts with whom
Aristide cooperates directly or indirectly, in particular Yves

addition to his work of sommelier in a restaurant and in collaboration

« Sommelier. The word is French and has its origins in the old Provençal
word Saumalier – a man who leads “bêtes de somme”. These
are beasts of burden, beasts that carry things, as opposed to “bêtes
de trait”, beasts that draw things behind them. Today of course it
means a wine-waiter and “sommelière” is a wine-waitress; a
drinks server. However in higher class establishements the word
“sommelier”is used, whether in France, England, the USA or
elsewhere. The person, as we all know, who is in charge of wines and
spirits in a restaurant. “Sommellerie”, of course, means the job
of the wine waiter, the trade of the sommelier ».
